EcoDataCenter – the world’s first climate-positive data center
In 2021 some of our biggest brands started their move into the world’s first climate-positive data center. EcoDataCenter uses 100 % renewable energy and the excess heat provided by the server is used to heat up homes near the data center. EcoDataCenter provides us with a uniqe solution to be truly climate-smart, and therefore we will move all our servers there during 2022-2023.
Sustainability is about more than just the environment
For us, sustainability is about much more than just the environment. We also take pride in taking care of our employees in the best possible way and being an attractive employer. We want our employees to reflect society at large, which includes being equal between the sexes but also that we work for diversity in many aspects, for example, ethnicity.
Knowledge is the key to improvement
We are leading the way in creating a more sustainable internet industry and to be able to do that we need to have full control of our carbon footprint. EcoDataCenter helps us with that by providing a monthly report based on the standards of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP).
We have committed to lowering our CO2 emissions by 42% by 2030
The latest climate science from the IPCC is clear – we are dangerously close to the critical warming threshold. But by deeply cutting global emissions in half by 2030, we can still limit the global temperature rise to 1.5°C. That is why we have committed to reducing our CO2 emissions by 42% by 2030 – a near-term science-based goal approved by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). Read more on SBTi’s website.
Our Commitment to the UN Global Compact
The UN Global Compact serves as a unifying platform, bringing businesses together to embrace and enact responsible corporate principles in the realms of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
We are thrilled to be fully committed to the global initiative of advancing sustainable practices and ethical behavior.
